At Radhiant, we are committed to making breast cancer screenings accessible and
affordable for women across South Africa. Recently, we had the privilege of attending
the Big Walk for Cancer, a fantastic initiative hosted by Algoa FM that brings together
individuals and organisations to raise awareness about cancer and support those
affected by it. It was an inspiring and heartwarming event, and we’re excited to share
our experience and reflect on the day.

Connecting with the Community at the Big Walk for Cancer

The Big Walk for Cancer provided a unique opportunity for us to connect with the
community and spread awareness about the importance of regular breast cancer
screenings. During the event, we were able to offer mammogram screenings to 16
women who took the time to visit our mobile mammography unit. These screenings
are crucial for early detection, and it was gratifying to know that we played a part in
empowering women to take control of their health.

Building Partnerships and Raising Awareness

In addition to offering screenings, the event gave us the chance to network with a
number of other healthcare professionals, organisations, and members of the public
who are passionate about cancer awareness. We had meaningful conversations with
many attendees, educating them about the significance of early detection and
promoting our mission of making mammograms more accessible across South Africa.
The energy at the event was amazing, and we were thrilled to be surrounded by such
a supportive and engaged community.

Reflecting on a Day of Impact

Looking back on the day, we’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an
impactful event. It was a great reminder of how powerful it is when communities come
together to support one another in the fight against cancer. The positive response from
everyone we met was incredibly rewarding, and we look forward to returning next year
to continue our work and further promote breast cancer awareness.
